I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (you might remember seeing them in a recent post), and received a number of questions about them since then. So many that I figured I’d dive in and give you a detailed review! I’ve also broken them in well that I understand how they really perform, and a bunch of related details about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

Are they true to size?
I’d say they fit just right, based on my pair.
They haven’t stretched much, so if you’re in the middle, I’d go up
Is the comfort worth it?
Very comfy, and only took a few hours to break in..
How durable are they?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about getting them dirty. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the shape stayed solid. Thanks to the vintage look, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
Nothing else compares in comfort or quality. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose wins in both comfort and quality. They include a built-in arch bump that adds a little height — making your legs look longer. Not to mention, they’re handmade in small batches, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the glitter on mine? Absolutely gorgeous.
Are they worth it?
Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They’re expensive, so getting them discounted is smarter. I’d pay several hundred for the quality, especially if you get a pair you love. I chose a loud pair, but a neutral version would also look great.

What’s the cost?
When I grabbed my pair in April, I paid around $385, but their full price is around $514.
You can expect to pay between four hundred bucks and seventeen hundred depending on their level of detail.
How does the sizing run?
They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36. Since they keep their shape and they don’t come in half sizes, I’d recommend sizing up.
How comfy are they?
They felt good right away. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since my feet get sweaty. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in fake leather. Plus, they’re already distressed so your feet just adjust easily.
How durable are they?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and I’m impressed with the durability. No glitter has fallen off, and the shape stayed solid.
Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
